...Thanks to the UK VAT decrease
A message to our EU customers. (If you live in the USA or in Australia or somewhere else not near Europe, what is written below does not apply to you: just pretend that nothing happened.)
As part of the UK government’s efforts to get us spending again (like we ever stopped), VAT in this country has been reduced from 17.5% to 15% starting from today, 1 December 2008.
Try it and see: go into any butcher that is aware of the change, order a slab of mutton and note that the price is 2.12765957% less than what you would have paid for it yesterday.
You will also see the new lower prices festooning our products.
As mentioned, if you are from outside the EU all prices are the same as yesterday’s. Bonus!
Either way, let’s all do our bit to get the world’s economy back on track. There’s still plenty of time to get something for yourself or a “close one” before Christmas.
